Co-designed with Lynden B. Miller, the Chelsea Piers Entry Garden at Pier 62 is intended as an exuberant welcome of four-season color and interest for the many thousands of neighbors and tourists who come to this pier to enjoy the Chelsea Piers sports complex, skateboard park, carousel, and gorgeous lawn “bowl” designed by MVVA for sun-bathing and relaxation. River-side plantings of grasses, roses, and drought-tolerant perennials are set in pockets among ribbons of structural shrubs.
